HRBP (R&D)

Ramsey, MN

Our client, a leader in optical manufacturing, is seeking an HRBP to join their team in the Ramsey, MN location. This HRBP will lead the R&D and ATC (Advance Tech Center) in all things HR, including; talent acquisition, employee relations and retention, compliance, leadership, and benefits administration. This role reports to the on-site HR Manager. The ideal candidate will be extremely polished when it comes to business communications (verbal and written) and have HR generalist experience in a specialized technical setting. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity that is primarily on-site in Ramsey, MN. There may be an option for a hybrid schedule of 1-2 days/week after the first several months of training. Only local candidates will be considered.

 

DUTIES

  • Advises, coaches and provides management with counsel regarding all HR issues such as appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, leave of absences/FMLA, talent reviews and succession planning. Consults with legal counsel and HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Uses judgment and discretion to interpret facts and draw conclusions. Proactively provides solutions and recommendations to the HR Manager, management and lab leadership team.
  • Creates programs and initiatives to support CLEAR (Care, Learn, Empower, Adapt and Respect) company values.
  • Participates in employee coaching and disciplinary meetings including terminations.
  • Assists managers with creation and implementation of Performance Improvement Plans, the progressive discipline process and succession planning. 
  • Ensures legal compliance as it relates to all HR matters including but not limited to company policy, wage & hour, EEOC, harassment, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.
  • Stays abreast of changes in HR regulations at the federal, state, and local levels, and communicates changes to applicable managers and employees.
  • Manages the leaves of absences process including FMLA for R&D and ATC employees.
  • Assist with the recruitment efforts for the R&D and ATC employees.
  • Assists benefits administrator with the annual open enrollment process and answering benefit questions on an ongoing basis.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field required; SPHR or PHR certification strongly preferred. 
  • 2 to 3+ years of progressive human resources experience including strong employee relations experience. May include a combination of work experience and education.
  • Business partner experience supporting a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, HRIS, and time keeping systems.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including professional verbal and written communication
  • Highly organized and detailed with planning/project management experience.
  • Experience with immigrations process strongly preferred.
  • Experience with comp planning strongly preferred.
