HR Administrative Assistant

Eden Prairie, MN

Humera is looking for a Human Resources Administrative Assistant for out client in Eden Prairie. This is a contract position that requires previous experience in Human Resources and great written and verbal communication skills.

Duties

  • Constructs procedure manuals for complex processes within the benefits areas, as well as edits the language in Summary Plan Descriptions and plan documents
  • Responds to questions from HR and LR regarding coverage under company programs
  • Assists with the preparation of annual statement of benefits
  • Ensures data is properly captured, transmitted to and processed by outside record keepers
  • Ensures that periodic wire and data transfers occur timely and are balanced appropriately
  • Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with other company departments and outside vendors
  • Participates in weekly medical consultant review process
  • Works with HRSS department on system testing for new benefit plans and changes to current benefit plans
  • Independently handles moderately complex issues that can be resolved by referring to plan documents
  • Coordinates non-discrimination testing of benefit programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • 2 years benefits experience
  • Good understanding of the state and federal regulations associated with benefits programs
  • Experience, technical ability and overall understanding of the benefit programs and their administration for unions and their competitors
  • Previous experience in benefits administration where a good understanding of federal statutes and laws governing lawful administration has been gained.
  • Prior work experience working with company benefits programs desirable
  • . Other Skills/ Abilities
    • Supervisory skills and ability to work with, and through others to achieve desired results
    • Proven ability to provide efficient coordination and clear communication to all benefit eligible associates human resource, personnel, labor relations and benefits departments in an efficient and timely manner
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Technical writing experience preferred
    • Ability to make effective presentations to large groups of employees
