Buyer/Planner

Humera is seeking a Buyer/Planner for our client in St. Paul. This position is responsible for duties related to Inventory Management, General Purchasing Duties and other related duties as needed. This is a contract to hire opportunity.

Duties

Inventory Management

  • Ordering inventory (SII single-use, STI /McLean Medical, SGBV products raw materials) in a timely and regular basis by using inventory software, production reports (production schedules, inventory groupings, sales history, sales/marketing input) customer P.O.'s of any minimum order requirements, monthly inventory reports or customer P.O. dates.
  • Receive products in the computer inventory after quality assurance inspection, items at SII and SGBV (Single Use and Instruments).
  • Make any computer entries necessary for inventory adjustments when required (SII single-use).
  • Process any Scanlan vendor/artisan returns on a regular and timely basis.
  • Maintain general supply inventories on a regular and timely basis.
  • Attend any inventory/production related meetings as required.
General Purchasing
  • Process/file/issue all requisitions and purchasing tasks as per policy in a timely basis.
  • Order any general items in a timely basis as requested using our purchasing processes.
  • Complete MRAF (Material Requirements Analysis Form) as required.
  • Provide support to quote team at STI/McLean as required.
  • Order in quantities to maintain pricing structure. Report deviations of STI/McLean raw material pricing to manager and STI Customer Service Manager.
  • Maintain, publish and communicate (STI/McLean open orders reports) delivery information, expediting or delaying when required. Monitoring scheduled receipt vendor/artisan performance on a regular basis and issuing CAR's when required.
  • Keep internal staff advised on a timely basis of changes in delivery expectations through availability lists, changing availability information, delivery reports, production meetings and answering any availability questions (do for SII single-use, STI/McLean raw materials).
  • Assist in keeping all work instructions and policies up to date and effective as required.
  • Place any maintenance repair orders in a timely basis and update staff as required (In coordination with SII Operations Manager).
  • Assist in the performance of physical inventories at Scanlan Group companies as requested. Assist/process Requests for Quotes as required.
  • Assist/process Delivery Performance Reports for suppliers/artisans/vendors as required.
  • Meeting with the Purchasing team on a regular basis sharing updates.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma (BA/BS degree preferred) or equivalent experience required.
  • 7+ years purchasing/inventory control work experience required.
Required
  • ISO knowledge and background required.
  • Knowledge of accounting, data processing, MRP and inventory control required.
  • Excellent communication, prioritizing and organizational skills required.
  • Control of inventory minimum balance required.
  • Inventory management software experience required.
  • Manual Skills/Dexterity: Computer, 10 key calculator and filing skills all required.
  • Microsoft Office Intermediate to Advanced skills required.
Preferred
  • MRP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of KANBAN preferred.
  • Supplier negotiation, request for quote process, supplier contract development skills preferred.
