Reimbursement Benefits Coordinator

Minneapolis, MN

Humera is seeking a Reimbursement Benefits Coordinator for our client, a leader in developing and marketing at-home therapy devices. The Reimbursement Benefit Coordinator provides direct support to the Authorization Department verifying medical benefits with third party payers and obtaining prior authorization processes to facilitate maximum collection potential. Responsible for performing all job duties while adhering to HIPAA requirements.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Results driven and proactive
  • Must be persuasive and credible with third party payers
  • Able to provide on-going communications to patients, field reps, clinicians, payers, peers, and management
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask, strong organizational skills
Desired Skill Sets
  • Verify eligibility and durable medical equipment benefits of patient medical insurance
  • Determine authorization process and requirements of Payers for Pneumatic Compression Device order
  • Facilitate maintenance of accurate and complete documentation in databases and patient files according to known procedures and requirements
  • Coordinate with co-workers as needed to provide insurance benefit information for prior authorization submissions and product shipments
  • Provide support to Reimbursement Operations Department and other departments as needed, including benefit re-verification
  • Identify interdepartmental efficiency improvements
  • Other projects as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • One year experience with medical insurance benefits and/or training
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with DME preferred
  • Experience using Insurance Payer Portals (e.g. Availity, NaviNet) or related experience
Required Skill Sets
